Next Level Sustainability – Driving the transformation
GROPYUS is rethinking sustainability – digital, holistic, and future-proof. Our “Next Level Sustainability” approach goes beyond individual buildings: Zero-emission energy systems, biodiversity-enhancing green spaces, and social infrastructure work together intelligently to create resilient living environments. Each construction project becomes a building block for inclusive, future-ready urban development. These goals are anchored in three company-wide focus areas (domains) that serve as strategic guidelines.

Domain 1: Circularity in Energy and Resources
GROPYUS plans buildings as part of a zero-emission energy concept – integrating photovoltaics, geothermal systems, and tenant electricity to create resilient neighborhoods. Circular materials such as timber, clay panels, and recycled photovoltaic modules are intended to be used alongside durable building technology that combines smart electrical infrastructure with passive heating and cooling technologies. A nature-based rainwater management system, inspired by the sponge city principle, contributes significantly to resilience and microclimate in residential areas.
1 - Energy concept in line with positive energy districts
2 - Circular materials beyond timber
3 - Sustainable rainwater management
4 - Simplified heating system

Domain 2: Living Ecosystems and Communities
Our buildings and neighborhoods are designed to foster biodiversity and social inclusion – with green roofs that create habitats for diverse species and integrate seamlessly with renewable energy technologies. Nature-based green spaces with native plants and minimal surface sealing enhance ecological quality in a lasting way. Shared spaces such as co-working areas, childcare facilities, urban gardening, and fitness zones offer room for connection and community life.
1 - Green roof optimised for photovoltaik and biodiversity
2 - Greening the building envelope (Facade)
3 - Non-residential uses on the ground floor
4 - Biodiversity promoting landscaping
5 - Urban gardening
6 - Fitness stations

Domain 3: Smart Comfort and Fair Access
Comfort and fairness are key pillars of our Next Level Sustainability strategy – and already contribute to ESG compliance. Smart building technology ensures a pleasant indoor climate through integrated features that are continuously refined, such as cooling systems, and proactive functions within our building operating system: automated shading, controlled window ventilation, and guidance for night cooling. Sustainable mobility options – from bike use and car sharing to barrier-free solutions – will further promote social inclusion and ecological responsibility.
1 - Protected bike parking
2 - Parcel station
3 - Automated shading and night ventilation
4 - Integrated cooling system
5 - E-car charging
6 - E-bike charging
7 - Mobility station

We live ESG – through measurable standards and proven impact
Our sustainability approach already meets the requirements of impact-driven investments. We collaborate with partners and leading industry initiatives that set benchmarks for sustainable construction and transparency. All our suppliers are assessed for business ethics and sustainability.
We rely on ecological resource management, sustainable forestry, and produce according to World Class Manufacturing principles – precise, high-quality, and waste-reduced. Our buildings are designed for circularity from the ground up. Social impact is measurable too: Our Sustainability Satisfaction score is 3.9 out of 5 – a value we continuously strive to improve.
